Kucoin To Enhance Payment Infrastructure In Southern Asia
KuCoin and Lightnet Group announce a strategic collaboration to advance digital asset trading and cross-border payment infrastructure across Southeast Asia, combining their respective fintech strengths in the region.

@KuCoincom, a leading global crypto platform, has announced it is exploring a strategic collaboration with @LightnetGroup, a Southeast Asia-based fintech company, to advance digital asset and cross-border payment infrastructure across the region.
The partnership aims to combine KuCoin's global digital asset trading ecosystem with Lightnet's specialized cross-border payment infrastructure and fintech expertise, targeting long-term opportunities across Southeast Asian markets.
What the Partnership Involves
According to a joint press release, the collaboration is designed to integrate both parties' capabilities to build a forward-looking ecosystem for digital financial services and to enhance digital asset infrastructure development across the region. Both companies say it also reflects a shared vision to support the broader adoption of blockchain-based solutions in emerging markets.
Lightnet operates under a multi-jurisdiction regulatory framework across more than 150 countries, with deep local partnerships throughout Asia. The firm provides fast cross-border settlement, on/off ramp, and liquidity services for both fiat and digital assets, serving banks, fintechs, and Web3 businesses.
KuCoin described Southeast Asia as one of the most dynamic regions for digital financial innovation, stating the deal reflects its continued commitment to advancing trusted and compliant infrastructure globally. Lightnet Group CEO Tridbodi Arunanondchai noted strong synergies between the two firms, adding that both parties intend to work within appropriate regulatory frameworks as they explore opportunities together.
KuCoin's Growing Southeast Asia Footprint
The announcement adds to KuCoin's expanding regional presence. In June 2025, KuCoin launched a fully regulated crypto exchange in Thailand — the first under the KuCoin brand to receive approval from the Thai Securities and Exchange Commission — marking a significant step in its Southeast Asia compliance strategy.
Both parties stated they will continue to explore collaboration opportunities with the goal of contributing to a more accessible, efficient, and inclusive digital financial ecosystem across the region.
