Bybit Leads $8m Funding Round In Malaysia Exchange Hata
@Bybit_Official has led an $8 million Series A funding round in Malaysian cryptocurrency exchange Hata, marking a deepening relationship between the two firms after Bybit previously participated in Hata's $4.2 million seed round.
The fresh capital is earmarked to boost liquidity, grow Hata's user base, and support the rollout of new digital asset products, according to the announcement.
Hata operates under dual licences in Malaysia, where the Securities Commission has been gradually expanding its list of approved digital asset exchanges. The country has positioned itself as one of Southeast Asia's more structured crypto markets, with a licensing framework that requires exchanges to meet strict compliance standards before serving retail investors.
The investment signals continued appetite among major crypto exchanges to back regulated platforms in emerging Southeast Asian markets, where retail participation in digital assets has been growing steadily.
