Taiwan Moves To Regulate Crypto With Sweeping New Draft Law
Taiwan's Financial Supervisory Commission has released a draft Virtual Asset Service Act for public consultation.
The proposed law covers exchanges, transfers, custody, lending and distribution of virtual assets. NFTs, securities and fiat currencies are excluded from the definition. VASPs must obtain a licence from the FSC before commencing operations.
The draft was published on 25 March 2025 and is open for public comment until 24 May 2025.
